On Thursday (February 20), local blogger Mrbrown alerted his followers about a counterfeit site posing as the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
While the complete web address remains unclear, the site claims that each resident is eligible for a “S$2,000 relief voucher” from the Singapore government after ‘verification’.
Visitors to the site are asked to provide their “full name” and “Telegram number” in the designated fields.

The page asserts that “every resident” qualifies for this financial support.
Nevertheless, a disclaimer on the same site indicates that there is a “limited quota” for the “cash assistance”.
A similar website examined by MS News did not have a “.gov.sg” ending, which is standard for official government sites.
Despite several red flags, certain features of the scam website seemed quite convincing.
Mirroring legitimate government portals, the scam site included a header stating “A Singapore Government Agency Website.”
The fraudulent website prominently featured logos for the Ministry of Finance and Budget 2025.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has issued a warning about such scams. Notably, SPF alerted the public to these scams prior to the Budget 2025 announcement on February 18.
On Friday, February 14, SPF released an advisory cautioning the public about misleading posts found on Instagram and Telegram.
These misleading posts lead victims to a site where they are prompted to provide personal information.
SPF took this chance to educate the public about how to access CDC vouchers and government cash payouts.

Individuals can claim CDC vouchers at https://go.gov.sg/cdcv. Those who successfully claim the vouchers will receive a unique link via SMS from “gov.sg” specific to their household.
Eligible citizens do not need to take any action regarding cash payouts; payments will be processed through PayNow-NRIC, bank accounts, or GovCash.
You can access details about CDC and government financial assistance programs through the following links:
