Two will face charges for selling fake iPhones

On March 20, two individuals will face charges related to the sale of a phoney iPhone.

The two, who are 40 and 34 years old, were taken into custody on March 19 and, according to a police announcement that same day, 22 phoney cell phones, charging cables, and more than $1,000 in cash were found.

The 40-year-old guy allegedly approached a woman at City Plaza on March 12 and offered her an Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max for $600, which led to the arrests. The local Apple website states that this model costs at least $1,899 in price.

According to the police, the woman brought it to an authorised outlet after the sale because she could not access her Apple ID account.

Both men are expected to face fraud charges. If convicted, they face a maximum 10-year prison sentence and a fine.
